The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School's Diploma in Professional Stage Management is one of the most well respected awards in the theatrical and performing arts sector. NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) is an awarding body offering a comprehensive range of globally-recognised qualifications designed to meet the health, safety and environmental management needs of all places of work. NEBOSH qualifications are recognised by relevant professional membership bodies including the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). NEBOSH examinations and assessments are set by its professionally qualified staff assisted by external examiners; most of whom are Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners or Chartered Environmentalists operating within industry, the public sector or in enforcement. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is a qualification for those with fire safety responsibilities in the workplace. It is relevant for Managers and supervisory staff who need to ensure that their organisation meets its responsibilities under fire safety legislation. Courses leading to this qualification should equip holders to carry out fire risk assessments of most low risk workplaces and identify the range of fire protective and preventative measures required. It is therefore also suitable for people moving into fire safety adviser roles (copy of certificate here).
SOLT / UK Theatre training on managing COVID-19 safely in Theatres.This course has been developed to give delegates an understanding of COVID-19 health and safety responsibilities. It will help people control and monitor risk to improve H&S at work helping to manage this new workplace hazard. (Certificate available here)
This is a CITB course aimed at Site Managers and the like who need to be able to set up and operate safe sites with regard to COVID-19 (certificate available here)
The A1 Assessor award is a qualification relating to assessment of candidates in relation to criteria set out in nationally recognised vocational standards for entertainment rigging. Assessors must also hold at least a Level 3 award (Rigging Supervisor). Copy of certificate here.
